An Expression is a formula, similar to that in Microsoft Excel, that automatically calculates the value of a Custom Field in an Item Type (Task Type), based on the values entered into other Custom Fields on the same form or properties of the form itself, such as the Customer. As the user enters values on the form that are referenced by the Expression Custom Field, the calculated value will be displayed.
For example; If you have a form that has Blank Width and Blank Height distance type Custom Fields, you could add an area type Custom Field with an Expression that multiples the blank sizes using their unique identifiers to give the Blank Area; BlankWidth * BlankHeight.
