Task Management

New task numbering option for Consecutive Task Type Number

A new task number option has been added to the site.  Currently each unique task number will follow on from the previous task number regardless of the task type.  However now it can be configured so that each individual task type will have there own increment set. An example as been provided below.

Overall this would allow a more accurate count of the amount of a specific task within the system.

Public and Private Discussions

There are options to change a discussion to be either public or private within WEBcnx  this is possible by using the public check box when adding a discussion to the site.  If left as public this will be visible to all users who view the task.

Alternatively you can un-check this box and the discussion will become private allowing you to add specific user in the selection menu as shown below.  There has also been a notification option added to the notification settings in WEBcnx to allow a user to be notified when they have been added to a private discussion.

The ability to control click and open an a second browser window has now been re-added to the application.

Prompt User before discarding an unsaved task

An notification has now been added to the site that will prompt a user when they attempt to discard a task.  This was added to ensure that if a user accidentally clicks the discard option the task isn't just discarded straight away.  This can be seen below.

Indication of task being saved

There have been further improvements to the notifications within the site and there is now a clear definition to when something is saving on the site.

Full Screen CAD Viewer

Further improvements have been made to the design section of the application in the 2019 upgrade seeing an update to the HTML5 CAD viewer.  A user now has the ability to view a design in full screen using within the site with the new viewer option.  This can be located on the Design Preview tab in the top right-hand corner.  From here the user will have access to a full range of tools and view options to manipulate the drawing and perform tasks such as simple measurements and annotations, viewing the drawing from both orientations (Inside/Outside) and filtering-out various elements of the drawing.

User Custom field to filter searches

It is now possible to filter the contents of a WEBcnx User custom field within a task down to a specific user/user group.  This can be achieved by first adding a WEBcnx user custom field to an item type, then using the 'Filters' mechanism to select one or more user group or user group types to filter out.

Document Name and Description now available in Quick search

Further functionality has been added to the quick search option on the site.  Users are now able to search on Document Names and Descriptions via the quick search feature.

It is now possible to edit or delete documents when using the quick search option within the site.  These new options can be located to the top-right of the dialog when viewing a document.

Open related objects in documents browser

It is now possible to view any related objects within the documents browser via the relationship tab.  Do this via the "View this item" action located to the top right of the Relationships tab.

Workflow triggers on specific status and priority

It is now possible to specify a status and priority you would like a workflow to trigger on.  This can be selected in the workflow trigger section.

WEBcnx Plugin

This will then open an exact copy of the project within impact without the need to end the plug in session, the user will then be able to make any relevant changes and save as a new or existing project.

In addition to the four that were previously included (jobKey, taskKey, displayText, taskType), we now also have projectKey and layerKey. Please note that upon upgrading to WEBcnx 2019, any value mappings with Task COM as either the source or destination will need to be amended, and have these two parameters added into the BeginMapping declaration
  • Value Mapping now contains Site as an attribute - It is now possible to select site name as an attribute within a Value Mapping.  This is available from both Task Source or Destination controllers and can be configured within the Value Mapping section within the admin menu on the site.
  • Impact Field Definitions System Tables - Within the Impact field definitions section of the site it is now possible to choose either a Custom or System table, thus introducing a wider range of configuration possibilities by referencing internal table contents.
